sTART BUILDING lIFELONG rELATIONSHIP eXPERTS
The CAFA Cares curriculum is a prevention model focusing on early education in relationship skills ensuring future generations will embody the skills of empathy, compassion, perspective-taking, and problem solving. The classes will use artistic and creative means to teach positive ways for a child to understand his or her own feelings and connect well with others. The classes are taught seasonally in Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer sessions. Classes are for 4 and 5-year-olds and are held one day per week with the options of Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.
Social and emotional intelligence concepts will focus on the following themes:
Love/ Compassion
Joy/ Positive Optimism
Peace/ Wise-Mind, Self-regulation
Patience/ Executive Functioning Skills
Kindness/ Empathy, Loving Kindness.
Goodness/ Generosity/ Other-Awareness
Faithfulness/ Secure Attachment, Giving and Receiving Help
Gentleness/ Conflict Management, Problem Solving
Self Control/ Mindfulness, Self-Management
